Wickfest Female Sledge Try-it Session
This open ice session invites female hockey players to try sledge hockey at Wickfest. Head coach and members of the Canadian Women's Sledge Hockey Team will guide you through the basic skills and drills to give you a taste of this Paralympic sport.

About the event
Try Sledge Hockey!
Sledge Hockey (known internationally as Para Ice Hockey) is just like regular hockey but played sitting in sledges. While originally designed for athletes with lower-limb disabilities, everyone can play and gain a new perspective of the game. Head coach and members of the Canadian Women's Sledge Hockey Team will guide you through the basic skills and drills to give you a taste of this Paralympic sport. What to wear: Participants should bring their regular hockey equipment (face shields mandatory) but not pants or skates. Wear warm under layers, long pants and sturdy shoes. Waiver: Meet beside the rink and arrive 10 min early to ensure waivers have been completed. ***Stick around after the sessions to watch members of the Canadian Women's Sledge Hockey Team showcase their skills!!**** Showcase: 1:30pm-2:15pm
